Convert Word to PDF
Turn a .docx file into a PDF without uploading it. Papyrus reads the document, lays it out and renders a paginated PDF on your device. Best for text-forward documents; complex layouts are approximate.
How it stays private
Frequently asked
Does my file get uploaded to a server?
No. Every operation on Papyrus runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your file is read from disk into your tab’s memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. Watch the network counter in the header — it stays at zero from the moment you add a file.
Will it look exactly like Word?
It’s a faithful, best-effort conversion of text, headings, lists, tables and images. Pixel-perfect fidelity for very complex layouts isn’t guaranteed — the trade-off for never uploading your document.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit the app and its WebAssembly engines are cached by a service worker, so you can process files with no internet connection at all — the ultimate proof nothing is being uploaded.
