Frequently asked

Does my file get uploaded to a server?

No. Every operation on Papyrus runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your file is read from disk into your tab’s memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. Watch the network counter in the header — it stays at zero from the moment you add a file.

Can I reorder the files before merging?

Yes — use the up/down handles next to each file to set the order before you hit merge.

Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can combine?

You can merge up to 50 files at once, up to 500 MB combined. Larger jobs are best split into batches.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the app and its WebAssembly engines are cached by a service worker, so you can process files with no internet connection at all — the ultimate proof nothing is being uploaded.
