Frequently asked

Does my file get uploaded to a server?

No. Every operation on Papyrus runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your file is read from disk into your tab’s memory, processed there, and written back out as a download. Watch the network counter in the header — it stays at zero from the moment you add a file.

Does it load external images or scripts?

No. The HTML is rendered in a locked-down sandbox with no network access — only assets embedded in the markup are used.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the app and its WebAssembly engines are cached by a service worker, so you can process files with no internet connection at all — the ultimate proof nothing is being uploaded.
